idFilm emerged from
a small but dedicated message board community. The blog is dedicated to
reviews of varying length and some
commentary.
Its initial idea and title came from a board member: "id for the unconscious drive, ID for identity, and even
I'd Film for our erstwhile/current ambitions... if you like".
At present there are three of us.
Michael Pattison, 24, lives in Gateshead, England. He is editor of the idFilm blog and is also a regular contributor to
Front Row Reviews. He is currently studying a master's degree in film studies. Follow him on

Srinivas S., 31, lives in India. He began taking a serious interest in films at the age of 26. He greatly admires the work of Yasujiro Ozu, Satyajit Ray and Michelangelo Antonioni, and aspires to make his own films some day.
Phil Hogan, 24, was born and raised in and around Atlanta, GA, and grew up on classical Hollywood films; as a teenager, he began exploring more recent and international cinema. He is currently a Communication major at Kennesaw State University and works part time as a life guard.
